MDA Consulting advised Perfektüp in the acquisition of Tubettificio M. Favia, a leading specialist B2B producer and supplier of rigid packaging solutions for the pharma industry MDA Consulting is delighted to announce that it has advised Perfektüp in the acquisition of Tubettificio M. Favia, a leading specialist B2B producer and supplier of rigid packaging solutions for the pharma industry. Perfektüp is part of Bell Holding group, owned by the Italian Manzini family; starting from Turkey, the group has created a business recognized across all of Europe and beyond in the supply of packaging product and business solutions, with a turnover of over 100 million euros, more than 1,000 employees and 11 production units in Turkey and Europe. Tubettificio Favia has been chosen for being a center of excellence in packaging production, and particularly in pharmaceutical packaging. Favia has, actually, a long experience as a partner of major international pharmaceutical companies, since its foundation, back in 1934. The deep knowledge of the Pharma industry has allowed Favia to anticipate its needs by proposing innovative solutions About MDA Consulting Role
The acquisition was followed by MDA Consulting, partners Massimiliano Belviso and Tiziano Furlan. The project was entrusted by Mr Manzini in 2019 and has been completed with the closing on April 5th 2022. Such a long time, but the ups and downs due to the covid has resulted in a delay of the conclusion of the deal. However the strategic rationale behind the project did not change over time. On cross border M&A between Turkey and Italy we may have other news in the near future

Phase 2 of MDA consulting in Turkey has started. We are at an advanced phase of the organization of a symposium that we have named ITALINVEST, the symposium is aimed at the Turkish companies to whom we’ll present investment opportunities in Italy. The date is set for the 4th quarter 2016 and it will be held in Istanbul.
The symposium aims at presenting an ample view of the investment opportunities in Italy and will also give, thanks to a very qualified panel of speakers, all information necessary should a Turkish company want to invest in Italy.
MDA has always marketed its competence in international expansion strategies by organizing symposiums on the subjects, we are now bringing to the fore this practice to the Turkish companies.
Turkish companies have arrived to a turning point, not focusing only on mere export, but consolidating recent market success with an overseas investment, this should be the theme of the expansion strategies of next 10 years. Some Turkish pioneer conglomerates have already lead the way with recent investments in Italy, however investments are accessible also to the medium size companies especially into the manufacturing industry. We’ll keep you updated in the near future with new posts
An article that appeared few months ago, but i did not put on the MDA website because it was under renovation. The project assigned by the Emilia Romagna region lasted 15 months and it was all about the health system of the region, looking to expand in Turkey. 10 companies out of 40 candidates were part of the mission brought in Istanbul for the EXPOMED fair 2015 which was the final episode of a long project, the number and quality of the B to B meetings has been very high and with the appreciation of all partecipants.
We do beleive that there is much more to do for the italian health systems companies in Turkey’s booming health business.

During a recent meeting between the Turkish minister for EU admission (yes there is one) and his European counterpart, the EU minister admitted that Turkey has a much better balance sheet than most of his fellow European states that are members of EU. The Turkish minister echoed this statement saying – “yes we are much better off than most European members and by the way we will continue with those reforms required to enter in the EU” (that so reluctantly the member states are adopting! I may add) .
Turkey has been kept knocking at the European door for several years now, and during the admission process the bar has been raised by the Europeans. I started to feel a little disappointment by the Turkish people and entrepreneurs in 2008 and by now the discontent about European behaviour is getting bigger and bigger. The economical performances of Turkey have given further confidence to the people that, at the end of the day, the European admission is not so crucial as they once thought. The problem of the Turkish admission is not political, religious or human rights, it is economical. By 2023 Turkey would the second largest economy in Europe, above the French and probably having such a giant to deal with is the problem, especially for the agricultural policy that the French are dictating.
I have said several times that if Europe does not admit Turkey in the Union, by 2023 they (the Turks) will form a Turkish speaking economical union (and there are several hundred million of Turkish-languages speaking people and in countries very rich with natural resources!) By then the EU will have to come to terms with this entity and not viceversa, probably.
